Step 2: Study the players and their current form
- Analyse the statistics:
- Study the current form of the players: their runs scored, wickets taken, average in matches.
- Look out for changes in the team line-up and injuries to players.
- Read the match news:
- Keep up-to-date with the latest news about the matches, weather conditions and player fitness. This will help you make informed decisions about player selection.
- Look out for team combinations:
- Some players may be more useful if they play in certain combinations (for example, some batsmen perform better when playing with certain players on the field).
Step 3: Form the team
- Pick 11 players:
- You need to pick 11 players, out of which usually 1-2 will be goalkeepers, 4-5 will be batsmen and 2-3 will be bowlers. Choose a balanced team.
- Allocate the budget:
- Each player has a value. You have a limited budget to assemble your team. Optimize your spending by choosing stars and mid-priced players.
- Appoint a captain and vice-captain:
- The captain and vice-captain will get extra points (usually 2x and 1.5x respectively). Pick players who have a high chance of winning the match.
- Pick players by match type:
- Consider the format of the match - T20, ODI or Test. Different formats require different strategies.
Step 4: Monitor changes and updates
- Check squad updates:
- It is important to monitor the latest news and updates to know if players have changed their form or are injured.
- Pre-match changes:
- Some platforms allow you to make changes to the squad just before the match starts. Use this opportunity to improve your team.
Step 5: Join a league and follow the matches
- Choose a league or tournament:
- You can join free or paid leagues. Join the league that interests you the most.
- Follow the matches:
- While playing, keep an eye on your players’ performance in real time. This allows you to quickly understand how you are doing and make changes in the future.
Step 6: Evaluate the results and improve the team
- Evaluate the team’s success:
- After the match or tournament is over, analyze your team and evaluate which players brought in the most points.
- Learn from the lessons:
- Learn what decisions worked well and what could have been better. This will help you improve your team in the future.
- Participate in other leagues and tournaments:
- Participate in new leagues and tournaments, applying your knowledge and strategic insights to build an even stronger team.
Step 7: Repeat the process
- Regularly update the roster:
- Continuously monitor the players’ condition and update the team’s roster depending on their current form.
- Use analytics:
- Study statistics, monitor new trends and apply them in the process of building a team.
